Lehrinhalte: Unit nonresponse is key threat to the quality of surveys. Common wisdom suggests that response rates have declined over years and it become even more complicated to contact respondents and gain cooperation. The following aspect of nonresponse are discussed in this seminar: - recent developments of response rates and nonresponse rates - nonresponse bias as the prime consequence of unit nonresponse - components of unit nonresponse (noncontact and refusals) - mode differences - methods and techniques that aim to reduce unit nonresponse. Seminar in English language, including presentations by participants.
