Official Course Description:
It was not only the heated public debate surrounding the Buildings Energy Act that made it clear that energy is one of the most controversial policy issues in Germany. The highly conflictual nature of energy policy results not least from the strong interdependencies with almost all other policies in the context of the goal of a climate-neutral Germany by 2045. This course provides a systematic overview of German energy policy, covering energy policy path dependencies, the most important institutions and actors as well as energy policy strategies and instruments.
