Course Contents:
Naturwissenschaften II is a compulsory class for mech. engineering students in their second semester. The course comprises a two-hour lecture accompanied by one-hour problem tutorials. The course comprises the topics
- electromagnetic fields
- electromagnetic waves, light, and optics, and
- quanta and radiation.
Please bring the color cards distributed in the first lecture with you for quizzes during the lectures. (These quizzes serve as a feedback for me to see whether or not you have understood the contents of the course and are not used for grading.)
Literature:
There are several textbooks in physics. Two text books in English language:
- Giancoli: Physics for Scientists and Engineers (Prentice-Hall, ~ 70 Euro)
- Halliday, Resnick, Walker: Fundamentals for Physics (Wiley, ~ 70 Euro)
The short manuscript is not sufficient for exam preparation.
