Course Contents:
Offers an opportunity for students to familiarize with modern RF/HF components as well as be directly involved in advanced fabrication and characterization topics for various RF/HF devices and circuits, including the hot topic of RF MEMS, for operation frequencies of up to the Terahertz. The emphasis of the seminar is experimental and aims at the demonstration of characteristics through development of measurement setups and processing of components.
Topics (not only limited to): - MEMS for power measurements at millimeter-wave frequencies - Heterostructure characterization with Hall-measurements - Photoelectrochemical etching of GaN devices - Nanosecond high-voltage pulsers for Gunn diodes biasing - GaN-HEMTs - GaN THz Diodes - Photonic and Electronic bandgap materials
Literature:
Bücher, Veröffentlichte Artikeln und Berichte über aktive and passive Halbleiterkomponenten
und -Schaltungen
Preconditions:
Basic Knowledge and understanding of electronics, preferably with emphasis on high frequency components and MEMS
