1. Fundamentals. Impedance; electromechanical analogies 2. Sound field: Wave equation, sound absorption and dispersion, room absorption 3. Sound radiation: spherical, dipole, cardioid sources; linear arrays, circular piston array 4. Physiological and psychological acoustics: The ear; acoustic perception. Speech production and perception 5. Electroacoustic transducers: Reciprocity relations; electrostatic, piezoelectric, electrodynamic and other transducers; directional microphones; microphone calibration 6. Acoustic measuring thechniques: Measurement of basic acoustic quantities; measuring chambers; vibration measurements 7. Analog and digital signal storage: Discs, magnetic tape and movie sound 8. Ultrasound and hypersound: Production and detection; applications
