- Objectives, applications, selection of voltage level
Overvoltages in high-voltage power systems
- Temporary and transient overvoltages, insulation coordination,
travelling waves on lines, overvoltage protection
Electrical fields
- Fundamentals and definitions, field stress at typical electrode
arrangements, layered dielectrics, principles of electrical strength
Dielectric breakdown of gases
- Air, Sulfur hexafluoride
High-voltage testing
- Generating and measuring high voltages in the test lab
