Course Contents:
The practical course of materials science is made up of four experimental units, each enlarged by a written exercise and a colloquium. The written exercise has to be handled in groups. Subjects of the experimental units:1. Evaluation of important material properties by tensile testing2. The notch effect and its consequences3. Effects of different heat treatments on hardness and durability of steel4. Metallography - basics and practice
