The course "Lineare Algebra für Physikstudierende" consists of two parts. In the Winter Term I expect to discuss
- The vector space Rn and systems of linear equations
- Fields and other mathematical structures
- Vector spaces and bases
- Vector spaces with scalar product
- Linear maps and matrices,
in the Summer Term we continue with
- Determinants
- Linear maps in vector spaces with scalar product
- Eigenvalues, eigenvectors, and diagonalisation
- Quadratic forms, bilinear forms and tensors (if there is time)
- Miscellaneous applications for illustration.
