Course Contents:
The course covers models for the coordination of inventory systems. The focus is on the determination of optimal production and transportation quantities as well as optimal production sequences. The objectives of the planning models discussed in the course is to guarantee both high service levels and low costs of keeping products in inventory. The planning models discussed in this course are of special importance for companies in the manufacturing sector as well as trading companies, as these sectors often face high inventory levels. After finishing this course, students are able to model planning problems that arise in production and inventory systems and to derive decision support.

Preconditions:
Students attending this course should be familiar with the topics discussed in the courses "Grundlagen der Betriebswirtschaftlehre I und II", and they should be familiar with basic methods in operations research.
