Course Contents:
This course is designed to help students improve their English competence in physics and in academic English generally.
The course focuses on three areas of English learning:
- reading comprehension and discussion of texts in physics
- writing academic texts
- presenting academic research orally.
Grades will be assessed on the following elements:
- active and thoughtful participation in weekly course discussions
- three 1-2 page response papers
- a ten-minute final presentation on a physics topic
