Analysis of powder diffraction data

The module is offered as a one week course and is especially meant for PhD candidates as well as Master students in the fields of Material Sciences and Chemistry. The course is limited to 9 participants based on “first come, first serve”. For registration, please also send an email to oliver.clemens@nano.tu-darmstadt.de

It is build up as a mixture of lecturing combined with numerous practical exercises using the program TOPAS. For the last day, you can bring your own data and we will work on evaluation strategies. The course covers the following contents:

Fundamental Parameters and Convolution based pattern fitting
Qualitative Phase Analysis
Quantitative Phase Analysis
Determination of Amorphous Content
The PONKCS method (partial or no known crystal structure)
