Course Contents:
In the course “Entrepreneurial Finance”, special attention is put on sources of financing which are relevant in different development stages of start-ups, e.g. subsidies, business angels, crowdfunding, etc. Students get an overview of different sources of funding available for young companies and their advantages and disadvantages. This part also provides a broad overview of the venture capital industry. Further, the business model of venture capital firms and the relationship between an equity investor and an entrepreneurial firm are analyzed in more detail. Based on a general understanding of the venture capital industry, the refinancing and investment process of a venture capital firm will be discussed intensively.
