In the optional module façade technology II, the materials used in façade constructions and the building physics in relation to the building envelope are explained. An understanding of the material-related constructive dependencies is developed and knowledge of the usual material-specific system solutions is imparted. The state of the art is presented and areas in which research potential exists are discussed.
Besides a lecture series, the module includes a practical component. The goal is to develop new types of façade components in consideration of the façade system. Furthermore, experts (facade builders, architects...) will present practical challenges of implementing facades in buildings to the students.
