Application of the superconductors for electrical energy converters:
- rotating electrical machines (motors and generators),
- solenoid coils for the fusion research,
- locomotive- and railway transformers,
- magnetic bearings.
Active magnetic bearings (“magnetic levitation”)
- basics of the magnetic levitation technique,
- magnetic bearings for high speed drives in kW to MW range,
- application for high-speed trains with linear drives.
Magneto-hydrodynamic energy conversion:
- physical principle,
- state of the art and perspectives.
Fusion research:
- magnetic field arrangements for contactless plasma inclusion,
- state of the current research.
