Lehrinhalte: Systems of conservation laws are evolutionary nonlinear partial differential equations with several applications coming from both physics and engineering, in particular from fluid dynamics and traffic models. The course aims to be an introduction to the well-posedness theory for the Cauchy problem associated to scalar conservation laws (in several space dimension) and to systems of conservation laws (in one space dimension).

Voraussetzungen: Analysis I-II, ODE, Integration theory, Linear algebra I-II. It is perfectly fine to attend the course in parallel to Functional Analysis. No previous knowledge of partial differential equations is assumed.
