Lehrinhalte: Sociolinguistics is concerned with those factors which influence the language of an individual within a particular group; it therefore examines the relationship between language and society. In this seminar we will discuss linguistic variation as a result of, for example, regional, social, ethnic, as well as gender- and age-specific considerations. All participants are expected to summarise one chapter from our textbook for presentation in class and to hand in a written piece of coursework.
