Official Course Description:
The seminar provides an overview of global development politics. In a first part, we will discuss theoretical approaches ranging from classical debates on modernization vs. Dependencia to newer post-development or institutionalist approaches. In a second step, we focus on specific problems like poverty, inequality, globalization, conflicts or the interaction effects between environmental destruction and development.
