Recorded lectures and Exercises will be made available on Moodle.
Course Contents:
The lecture will give an overview of Terahertz applications, sources and detectors with the focus on semiconductor-based devices and Terahertz systems. Terahertz detection and generation will be discussed in detail for two types of highly important devices: Schottky diodes (mixers, multi-pliers and rectifiers) and photomixers (photo-diode based and photoconductive). The exercise, where performance parameters of the discussed devices will be derived for experimentally rele-vant cases, will help to deepen the understanding.
The last day will be used for a lab tour showing our measurements facilities and hands-on experiments.
