Course Contents:
In this course you will be introduced to scientific writing and learn about the process of successful writing. We will discuss how to deal with literature/references, the structure of scientific articles/theses, plus issues of linguistic style and register. You will experiment with various writing techniques and methods throughout the course.
Literature:
Material will be made available on Moodle.
Preconditions:
Students whose mother tongue is not German must have a minimum of 80 points on the placement test.
Be aware that this is NOT a language learning course.
Further Grading Information:
Course work: Two thirds of the course takes place in online sessions via Zoom, one third is via self-study time. You will regularly work on portfolio assignments on selected topics related to academic writing, and you can work on the assignments either in German or in English.
