Course Contents:
This is a four-hour weekly course for students with very little or no knowledge of Arabic.
Students will learn the basics of the language in a structured and communicative environment. All four skills (reading, writing, speaking & listening) will be practiced equally. Characteristic aspects of Arabic culture will be introduced at the same time.
Learning Goals: alphabet (oral and written), articles, sun and moon letters, numbers, pronouns, personal suffixes, dual and plural, roots and structures, adjectives
Course Content: greetings, asking after another’s health, introducing yourself, partings, everyday situations, booking a hotel room, asking the price, asking for directions, giving directions, describing locations, modes of transportation, small talk, telling time
