Official Course Description: This course serves as a practical introduction to corpus and computational linguistic data processing. The aim of the course is to provide you with practical skills in compiling, annotating and querying digital corpora and the application of selected computational text analysis tools. The course starts with an overview of methods and technologies and the moves on to the use of Python and the Stanford NLP Tools in processing natural language data. The course will be delivered via videos and texts introducing different aspects of data processing in corpus and computational linguistics. All materials (texts, videos etc.) wil be delivered via moodle. Students are exected to work on the tutorial videos in their own time and use the scheduled course time for specific questions. Students will be notified when the moodle course goes online at the beginning of April.
